Blow In Insulation, Floor Insulation, Insulation Removal, Windows

Electricity generated by fossil fuels for a single home puts more carbon dioxide into the air than two average cars. By using a few inexpensive energy-efficient measures, you can reduce your energy bills by 20% to 50% and, at the same time, help reduce air pollution.

Energy-efficient improvements not only make your home more comfortable, they can yield long-term financial rewards. Reduced operating costs more than make up for the higher price of energy-efficient appliances and improvements over their lifetimes.

Utility bills are increasing every year with the rise in electricity and heating fuel. It is common to trace these energy bills to an in-efficient component (windows, doors and insulation). At Home Energy, we offer a 21-point check system to evaluate the performance of your home and generate a list of needed improvements. It may be as simple as just bringing your attic insulation up to an R-49, up to 18 inches of insulation to start saving 35% a year!

This is Not Rocket Science!

Shrinking your energy bills isn’t rocket science. Because hot air rises, most heat lost in a home goes through the roof. What causes heat loss? Leaks in the attic floors or ceiling are the culprit, lowering the R-value of attic insulation and draining 30 to 50 percent of a home’s heating or cooling energy.

Georgia Code is a R-38 in the attic (which is almost 16 to 18 full inches on insulation). The DOE recommends 4R-48 for Georgia. This is the most inexpensive way to get returns on your investment.

INSULATION

Want to crunch your energy bill?

Heating and cooling costs account for most of your energy bills, so proper insulation can help you save a lot of money, and eco-friendly insulation can help you save the Earth at the same time.

Here is a green insulation option:

Formaldehyde-free fiberglass insulation. Not only is it about the same price as conventional fiberglass insulation, it's healthier because there are no formaldehyde fumes that could cause sinus or lung problems. And since it's naturally white, no dyes are used.

Insulation

Floor Insulation

A home does lose energy through the floor, but the biggest advantage is comfort. If you have a floor that is cold to the touch like wood, laminate or tile, that is accessible from underneath, it’s an inexpensive, quick fix to insulate.

Old Insulation Removal

Home Energy is one of the few companies in Georgia that specialize in “Old” Insulation removal. This may be needed due to fire damage, rodent infiltration or water damage. We offer clean and quick removal, usually in on days’ time.

WINDOWS

Why Replace Windows?

Older windows that are generally made with wooden frames can warp or rot over time. At one time been well sealed, but over the years caulking flakes away and allows water to seep in. When water gets into the wood it expands and can rot, leaving spaces though which water and air can get into the house. Basically, you have an aesthetic nightmare as well as horribly inefficient insulation against the elements.

Vinyl replacement windows take care of it all. The best part of the whole deal is that they will never rot or warp. The paint won't peel because there isn't any! The only maintenance they will ever need is cleaning and that is many times easier than on old wooden windows with separate panes.

Timing is everything and today at Home Energy we have rolled back our window pricing to the lowest in five years!
